Parafest 2018 Festival of Ultralight and Free Flight - Snowdonia National Park

Stunning New Venue for Parafest 2018...it's going to be awesome!!

A festival as unique as Parafest requires a unique venue. The new home of Parafest is unrivalled as a festival venue.

Ex-military Llanbedr Airfield (now rebranded as Snowdonia Aerospace Centre), nestled in Snowdonia National Park on the coastline between Barmouth and Porthmadog, is the new host of Parafest. This stunning location offers everything a pilot could wish for in a flying event.

Flying the peaks and valleys to the summit of Snowdon is on many pilot’s wish list. Llanbedr is situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and the peak of Mount Snowdon is clearly visible from the airfield.

Llanbedr Airfield sits right on the coastline and benefits from a smooth sea breeze enabling easy, relaxed flying all day long. This coastline is some of the most picturesque in Wales with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, castles, picture postcard towns and breathtaking scenery for you to explore.

Being on the edge of Snowdonia National Park means we are also within easy driving distance from many great paragliding sites. All wind directions and experience levels can be catered for. Wales has everything from relaxed coastal sea breeze soaring to inland thermic sites.

Experienced paraglider pilots with local knowledge will be at Parafest all weekend offering details for the day’s conditions and site briefs to all visiting hill pilots.

As it's ex-military the main runway at Llanbedr is huge and at over a mile long it means anything and everything is able to fly in and enjoy Parafest and everything Wales has to offer.

Whatever aircraft you fly you are welcome to fly in, park up, camp up and enjoy the festival weekend. Llanbedr is PPR only and full details for all aircraft flying into Parafest will be on our website, launched early in the New Year.

Pilots of microlight and light aircraft are welcome to fly in and visit anytime. Find and follow their Facebook page Snowdonia Aerospace LLP. PPR details and airfield info can be obtained by emailing llanbedrafiso@safeskys.co.uk For urgent requests please call: 01341 241356

Within the festival we have the Parafest trade show where all the major manufacturers, dealers, schools and suppliers of paramotor and paragliding equipment and accessories exhibit.

As Parafest is now at Llanbedr and the runway open to all traffic this trade show element will be expanded to include traders appealing to pilots of all aircraft types.

Parafest isn't just for the pilots, Parafest is for the whole family. Trading alongside the flying stalls we also have plenty of non flying stalls, a kids zone, circus skills workshops, a fairground, a variety of hot food caterers, a fully licenced bar with real ales and cocktails plus many more sideshows and attractions, too much to list.

Professional live acts perform in the festival arena on a purpose built stage all day until midnight Friday and Saturday and those that like to party can head over to the Asbo Disco, the Parafest all night area distanced away from the camping fields, where we have DJ sets on until the early hours. Parafest isn't just a fly-in....Parafest is a festival that you can fly at
